Dallas serves as the coalition’s groundbreaking location, where we are working with local partners to help residents better understand regional risks and connect with practical pathways to more resilient homes.

  • FORTIFIED™ Roofs Initiative

    The FORTIFIED™ Roof Initiative is RHA's flagship pilot program, demonstrating how innovative financing, public-private partnerships, and proven building standards can make weather-ready homes more attainable. Beginning in Dallas, the Coalition will help homeowners upgrade to FORTIFIED™ roofs designed to better withstand severe weather. More than a roofing project, the initiative serves as a living demonstration of how insurers, lenders, contractors, nonprofits, and community leaders can work together to reduce disaster losses, strengthen neighborhoods, and create a scalable model that can be replicated in communities across America.

    As RHA’s inaugural market, Dallas faces a unique gauntlet of weather risks. We are moving the local housing market toward a standard that doesn't just endure harmful weather events but thrives despite them.  

For Homeowners

Resilient Home America puts resilience within reach by connecting homeowners with grants, financing, and certified contractors to complete protective housing retrofits. RHA will identify applicants through our partners.

Resiliency Applicants: Eligibility for grants or lower-interest loans for a FORTIFIED roof is based on financial need and weather peril vulnerability.

Revolving Loan Fund: The program is supported by a revolving fund offering affordable, long-term financing for resilient upgrades in partner neighborhoods.

Direct Grants: Partner-funded grants to contribute to FORTIFIED costs.

Gap Funding: After a weather-related insurance claim, homeowners can apply for funding to upgrade a standard roof replacement to FORTIFIED standards.

If you've recently filed an insurance claim for hail or wind roof damage, ask about claim-based gap funding, which can help cover the difference between a standard roof replacement and a full FORTIFIED™ upgrade.
